Shaina Theis, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping people heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Berea College in 2012 and her Masters in Social Work from Spalding University in 2014. Her career in counseling began working alongside older adults in a long-term care setting and that is where Shaina says she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of dignity, compassion, and meaningful connection.
Approach to Care:
Shaina believes a therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma-informed. She is formally trained in Brainspotting and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), both evidence-based modalities for trauma treatment. She also integrates techniques from a variety of therapeutic approaches, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and preferences. Shaina has experience in supporting individuals with concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, relationship challenges, and chronic stress.
About:
Outside of her work Shaina enjoys reading fiction (especially stories that are historical, magical, or emotionally rich), caring for her ever-growing collection of plants—succulents are her favorite—traveling, and spending time with her children, her dog, two cats, and laughing alongside her husband.
